What Is Juvederm®?
Juvederm® is an injectable treatment that helps restore lost volume to the cheeks. It is made out of a compound naturally found in the body called hyaluronic acid. Juvederm® is the first and only dermal filler that is designed to correct lost volume in the cheeks.
The cheeks have a tendency to lose volume as a person gets older. Excessive sun exposure can also cause one to lose volume in their cheeks. Restoring lost volume not only helps plump up the cheeks, but it can also help a person look much younger. Juvederm® can help restore volume to the face, and it delivers results that are natural-looking.
Is Juvederm® Right For Me?
Juvederm® has been well-studied and proven to be effective for all skin types. However, you will need to schedule a consultation before you get Juvederm®. Only your healthcare provider can determine whether this treatment is right for you. Make sure you inform your healthcare provider if you have had a history of severe allergies or allergic reactions.
The Results of Juvederm®
You will be able to instantly notice the results after getting Juvederm®. Not only will you be able to get quick results with Juvederm®, but these results can potentially last for a long period of time. In fact, the results of Juvederm® can potentially last for more than two years. Touch-up injections can be used to maintain the results of this treatment.
What to Expect during a Juvederm® Treatment Session
Juvederm® can typically be completed in just 15 minutes. However, the treatment time can vary. Juvederm® will be injected into the area using a very fine needle. The discomfort that one experiences during their treatment is typically minimal. We can minimize the pain by using a topical anesthetic if necessary.
Possible Side Effects
Juvederm® is a very safe treatment, and the side effects have a tendency to be mild. You may experience some bruising, swelling and redness in the cheek area. It is important to note that if you are taking blood thinners, then you are much more likely to experience bruising. However, these side effects will typically go away within one week of the treatment. Make sure that you contact us if the symptoms do not go away within one week. We will be able to address these issues.
Aftercare Instructions
You can return to your normal activities after you get Juvederm®. However, sun exposure should be limited for the first 24 hours after this treatment. Sun exposure can irritate your skin.
