- When is the office open?
- Clinical is open Monday- Friday 8:00am - 5:30pm (earlier appointments available by request)

- Patients will be notified of any changes to this schedule via website, newsletter, flyers and phone calls (if applicable)
- What is the protocol for emergency office closings?
- If for any reason the office must close due to an emergency, staff will immediately call patients who have an appointment scheduled.
- Appointments
- How can I make a medical appointment?
- You can make an appointment by calling the office at (517) 993-5900.
- How do I cancel or reschedule an appointment?
- Good communication is the key to serving you better. If you need to cancel or reschedule appointments, kindly give us at least a 48 hour notice. If you fail to give 48 hour notice or fail to show for your visit, a fee of $75 may be charged to your account.
- Insurance
- What insurances do you participate in?
- Medicare, Medicare/BCBS Advantage, Medicare Plus Blue, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Blue Care Network, Blue Care Network Advantage, PHP, SPHN, CoFinity, Aetna, and Cigna.
- What is my copay?
- Copays are determined by your insurance company. To determine your specific amount, contact your insurance provider.
- All copays must be paid at each visit.
- We collect a standard $40 if you are unaware of your copay, then will adjust accordingly.
- What is a deductible?
- A deductible is the amount of expenses that must be paid out of pocket before an insurer will pay any expenses. Please check with your insurance provider to determine what your deductible is.
- Deductibles are due at the time of service.
- Prescriptions
- How do you fill my prescriptions?
- Prescriptions ordered by our physicians are e-scribed to your pharmacy of choice. You tell us which pharmacy and we take care of the rest.
- How do I get my prescription refills?
- An appointment with a provider (doctor, PA, NP) is required for all prescription refills.
- Referrals
- Do I need a referral from my primary care provider to make an appointment in your office?
- No, Doctor’s Approach does not require a referral from your primary care provider.
- Does my insurance require a referral from my primary care provider?
- Each insurance company is different. If you have any questions, check with your insurance agency before making an appointment.
- Payments
- How does your office bill patients?
- Bills are sent out monthly. The office does not bill for copays so therefore your copay is due at the time of check-in.
- What type of payments does your office take?
- Visa, MasterCard, cash, checks, and Care Credit.
- New Patients
- What do I need on my first visit?
- New patients are required to provide the following items:

- Copay and Deductible

- How long can I expect my first appointment to take?
- Typically, the first appointment consists of a one-on-one consultation with one of our licensed providers. You should allow yourself 1 to 1-1/2 hours for the first visit. This includes check-in, wait time, consultation and check-out.
- Voicemail Messages
- How do I leave a voicemail message?
- If you need to reach the office and leave a message, please call (517) 993-5900 and follow the prompts.
- When will my voicemail message get returned?
- Messages left on the nurse line will be answered within 48 hours, except on weekends and holidays. These messages will be answered on the next business day.
- Skin Cancer Screenings and Mole Checks
- What is your protocol for getting a body exam (skin cancer screening / mole check)?
A thorough full-body exam involves checking the skin and moles of concern for signs of skin cancer or any abnormalities. Our extensive exam utilizes special lighting, followed by additional diagnostic tests if needed.

- What should I do before I arrive for my screening / mole check?
- Perform a skin self-exam. Note any new, changing, itching, or bleeding moles, growths, or other lesions. This is important information to share with our skin specialists.
- How can I prepare my skin for the screening / check?
- It is important for our skin specialists to examine your skin in its natural form.
- Please remove all nail polish from fingernails and toenails – skin cancer can form underneath your nail bed.
- Arrive without makeup.
- Please avoid hairspray – exams include the scalp area.
- Mohs Surgery
- Who performs the Mohs surgery?
- All Mohs procedures are performed on site with Dr Street. She is a fellowship trained Mohs surgeon and skin cancer specialist for Doctor’s Approach Dermatology group practice.
- When do these surgeries take place?
- Mohs surgeries are routinely performed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Because of the precision of the Mohs surgery and the processing time associated with each patient, the patient must understand they will need to plan to be in the office the entire day. We have also found that it may be necessary to schedule some of the closures (stitching the wound back together) the following morning. (Days of surgery are subject to change.)

- Pathology Reports
- When can I expect to get the results of my pathology report?
- Pathology reports can take up to 2 weeks until they are returned to the office, and longer if it’s near the holidays.
- If pathology report is benign we will send a letter along with the benign pathology report. If pathology report is positive we will contact the patient with details about the report.

- Does the med spa accept insurance?
- The med spa does not accept insurance for treatments.
- New Patients

- Typically, the first appointment consists of a one-on-one consultation with one of our licensed aestheticians. You should allow yourself one (1) hour for the first visit. This includes check-in, wait time, initial consultation and check-out.

- Who performs the treatment?
- One of our licensed aestheticians will perform the requested service
- Who oversees the Med Spa?
- Doctor’s Approach Medspa & Laser Center is the only medspa overseen by a board certified dermatologist. All of our treatments and protocols are approved by our Medical Director, Dr. Marcy Street. At all times, a medical provider is available to provide oversight.
- Can I schedule a treatment the same day as my consultation?
- We typically do not schedule procedures on the same day as the consultation, this may vary depending on the availability of time. Once you and the aesthetician have selected an individual treatment plan, the aesthetician can determine if your treatment can be performed that day.
- Care Credit
- What is CareCredit?
- Doctor’s Approach accepts CareCredit. CareCredit is a healthcare credit card with a credit line for your entire family. It is a credit card designed for your health and beauty needs.
