Is your Keto Diet causing a Keto Rash?

Are you on the Keto Diet and have had a rash appear? You may have a “Keto Rash” or Prurigo Pigmentosa. A Keto rash is an itchy rash that has been suggested to be correlated to the popular keto diet. The keto diet is a low carb, high fat diet that puts the body in ketosis much like uncontrolled diabetes. It presents as itchy red bumps on the trunk. The cause is unknown but there have been documented cases in patients on the keto diet. There is treatment but mostly correcting the underlying nutritional deficiencies from the diet are key. If your rash does not go away we recommend scheduling an appointment with one of our Board Certified Experienced Healthcare Providers.
